Hello Luton 👋
I’m really excited to be joining Luton Council and thought I’d introduce myself properly so you know a little about the person behind the job title.
I’ve spent most of my career working across local government, public sector organisations and non-profits, helping teams deliver digital and organisational change that actually makes services better for the people who use them.
My background is in digital, data and technology transformation and programme delivery. Over the years I’ve worked with a range of councils and organisations helping them to:
- modernise services
- strengthen programme management
- use technology and data more effectively – handy, given my new role!
Most recently, I’ve been running my own consultancy supporting councils with digital transformation and organisational capability reviews. I really enjoy helping teams step back to:
- look at the bigger picture
- work out how people, processes and technology can come together to improve outcomes
For me, successful transformation is never just about technology; it’s about people, culture and collaboration. I’m really looking forward to working with colleagues across the council to support the brilliant work already happening here and contribute to Luton’s 2040 vision.
A few quick facts about me
🎾 Tennis fan
Watching more than playing – the championships at Wimbledon is my spiritual home.
🧀 Food lover (especially cheese)
If there’s a cheeseboard involved, I’m very happy! I also love trying new restaurants and giving new recipes a whirl.
🧠 Interested in NLP (neuro-linguistic programming)
I’m fascinated by how people think, communicate and create change. NLP is something I use a lot in leadership and coaching conversations, and in day-to-day life!
🏡 Currently living in Surrey
But spending more time in Luton now, so I’m always open to recommendations for great coffee or lunch spots.
📊 A bit of a transformation geek
I genuinely enjoy solving complex problems, improving services and helping teams work better together.
🤝 Looking forward to meeting everyone
Starting somewhere new is always exciting and I’m really looking forward to getting to know colleagues across the organisation.
If we bump into each other in the office or in meetings, please do say hello. I always enjoy meeting new people and hearing about the work going on across the council.
Looking forward to working with you all.
Nicola (I’ll also answer to Nic but NEVER Nicki 😊)
